“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations.
I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty,
Believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.”
— Louisa May Alcott
This picture reminds me of my mom’s lilac bushes. When I moved home 6 years ago they were about 8 feet tall with a few blooms at the very top. It took some doing, but I finally convinced dad that we needed to trim them back. We cut them down to about 3 feet and today they look like this picture again. Even though I’m far away, I can remember the fragrant smell. Today’s quote reminds me of those faraway days as a young child. Lying in the grass, looking up at the trees and the clouds and the lilacs and dreaming! “When life was sweet and still”. Take some time and re-live those days! Can you smell the Lilacs?
